Inserting and Editing Images

The Insert/edit image command allows you to insert and edit the images. When you click the Insert/edit image command, the Insert/edit image dialog box opens.

The Insert/edit image dialog box contains following tabs:
  • General

  • Appearance

  • Advanced

General Tab

General image properties can be set on the General tab.

The following table describes the fields on the General tab.
Field Description

Image URL

URL of the image. The images already uploaded in the CMS can be inserted in a document by clicking Browse, and selecting the appropriate image.

Image Description

Short description for an image.

Image Title

The image title appears when you rest the mouse pointer on the link.

Preview

Preview of an image.

Appearance Tab

The image appearance on a page can be managed on the Appearance tab.

The following table describes the fields on the Appearance tab.
Field Description

Alignment

Image alignment on the page.

Dimensions

The horizontal and vertical dimensions of an image in pixels.

Vertical Space

The space is added above or below of an image.

Horizontal Space

The space is added on either of the sides of an image.

Border

Border width of an image. If you do not want to specify a border for an image, then leave this field blank.

Class

A class that is defined in a style tag or a style sheet file to determine how an image is displayed on screen.

Style

Inline style definition for an image.

Advanced Tab

The advanced image properties can be set on the Advanced tab.

Field Description

Alternative image

An alternative image is displayed when you move the mouse pointer away from the image.
  • For mouse over: Specifies an image file to be used as an alternative image when you point to the image.

  • For mouse out: Specifies an image file to be used as an alternative image when you move the mouse pointer away from the image.

Id

ID of an image for reference in scripting and style sheets.

Language Direction

The direction in which the text is spelled.
Note: Setting the language direction from right to left is supported only if the character set supports right to left display.

Language code

Language code of an image.

Image map

Image is defined as a client-side image map.

Long description link

Description added to an image when it is used as a link to another resource.
